South Lakes luxury suites shortlisted in international awards

Kirkby Lonsdale’s Absoluxe Suites has been shortlisted in two categories of the prestigious Serviced Apartment Awards 2022.

The annual awards, now in their seventh year, are the only dedicated awards created for and by the international serviced apartment, aparthotel, extended stay and short-term rental industry.

These awards are specifically designed to recognise excellence at corporate and individual levels and each year are open to entry by all serviced apartment operators, alliances, providers and suppliers worldwide.

In the 2022 edition, Absoluxe Suites has been shortlisted in two of the 19 award categories:

  • Best Operator 1 to 50 units, which sees some serious competition from Beyond Apartments, Central Belfast Apartments, Cloud Apartments and Princes Street Suites, Edinburgh.
  • Best Use of Technology category up against AltoVita, Housekeep, OWL, Reloquest and SUPERHOG.

The panel of 15 judges now have to make some difficult decisions before the award presentations. Those involved include Eloise Hanson, Editor of Boutique Hotel News, George Sell, Editor of Serviced Apartment News, Natalia Kolotneva, Head of European Living and Hospitality of LaSalle Investment Management, Markus Feller, Head Innovation & Transformation of SV Group and Hilary Lancaster, Founder of Fusion Interiors Group.

Now the Absoluxe team will have to wait until the glitzy black-tie awards evening, which is being held on May 10 at The Montcalm, near London’s Marble Arch, to find out how they fare.

The full shortlist can be viewed at https://www.servicedapartmentawards.com/winners/2022-shortlist/

Carol Burrow, co-owner and director of Absoluxe Suites, said: “We didn’t expect to be shortlisted, let alone in two award categories. Obviously, we’re over the moon that the work we’ve done in creating Absoluxe Suites in Kirkby Lonsdale has been so well received within the industry and by our guests – it’s a real showcase for what we do. Now, all we can do is wait to see how we get on, but hopefully, we can bring an award back to Cumbria.”
