Three games called off in Cumberland ARL Division One

Tonight’s three-match programme in the Holmen Iggesund Cumberland ARL has been postponed.

A combination of factors have caused the three games in Division One to be called off.

Acting secretary Ken Millican said: “Clubs have said they haven’t enough players to make up teams because of injuries and holidays, I’m trying to rearrange on of them for Wednesday night.”

The Division One is made up of A teams and matches called-off tonight are as follows:-

Egremont A v Hensingham A; Kells A v Seaton A; Ellenborough A v Cockermouth A.

One of tomorrow’s Premier Division games, Cockermouth Titans v Glasson Rangers has also been postponed because of similar reasons.

It means the weekend programme has been reduced to just two games but the stand-out fixture should be an absolute cracker.

Distington and Ellenborough are both unbeaten in the League although Distington did produce a stunning second-half performance to beat Elbra in the Cumbria Cup.

Clearly Ellenborough will be out to exact revenge but there’s a more determined look to Distington this season after losing a grip on their title last season.

Wath Brow A at home to Maryport is the other Premier Division fixture still scheduled to be played.
