A Workington junior football club is raising funds to support a member of their Under-10s who is seriously ill in hospital.

Jayden Wilson is a very promising goalkeeper with Workington Reds Juniors and has been diagnosed with two blood clots on the brain.

He was admitted to the Newcastle Freeman Hospital for urgent and intensive treatment.

The Juniors have created a JustGiving page for people to help support Jayden’s family.

The club said: “Jayden is stable currently but the family have a long road ahead. Jayden remains an in-patient and is likely to remain in hospital for the foreseeable future.

“The family will therefore spend a lot of time travelling between West Cumbria and Newcastle to ensure Jayden makes progress.”

Club chairman David Garrett added: “We have set up this JustGiving page in an attempt to financially support the family at this difficult time.

“”This support will enable Jayden’s parents to make the journey to and from hospital and will fund any hotel stays, fuel and other costs during this period. We are asking for any donation, big or small, to help the Wilson family.”
