West Cumbrian star Kyle Amor has joined Warrington on loan from St Helens for the rest of the season.
Amor, who will be 35 tomorrow, started his illustrious career with home town club Whitehaven after joining them in 2009 from the local amateur side Hensingham.
This season he has been restricted to just four appearances for the Saints, where he has given outstanding service since 2014 playing over 200 games.
There is some speculation that Amor will make a move to a Championship club for 2023 with Whitehaven being touted as his final destination to bookend his career.
For now, though, he will help bolster the Wolves pack in the short-term – the fourth Super League club he has represented after Leeds, Wakefield and Saints.
He said: “To get back playing is a big thing for me.
“I wasn’t perhaps getting enough game time as I would have liked to at Saints and when I got a phone call from Warrington about the opportunity and I could feel myself getting excited again.
“The Halliwell Jones Stadium has always been one of my favourite places to play at. When I’ve played there for Saints the place has been bouncing. It’ll be great to get out there now, earn the respect of the Warrington fans and feel the buzz around the place.
“There’s an opportunity to get into that top six and then who know what can happen from there. It’s about a game at a time starting next week against Leeds. It’s up to us now to kick on and fulfil that potential. It is a challenge and something I’m looking forward to.”
Amor has won four Grand Finals, three Super League Leaders’ shields and a Challenge Cup during his career.
