Pre-season friendlies have continued in West Cumbria this week with 5-0 victories for both Whitehaven and Cleator Moor Celtic.
Whitehaven were impressive in their win over Wearside League opponents Windscale while Celtic defeated county league side Whitehaven Miners.
Goals from Keenan Mackay (2), Joe Carney, Kian Goulding and Mal Norford gave Whitehaven their win over Windscale.
For Celtic the goals were scored by Dan Hill (2), Adam Smith (2) and Owen Charlton.
Bothy teams were expecting to complete their preparations with games against Workington Juniors – Whitehaven (tonight) and Celtic (Saturday).
But the county league side have had to cry-off both because of a shortage of players caused by injuries and holidays.
Celtic are still hoping to arrange a friendly for Saturday while Whitehaven have arranged an in-house game.
