
A paraglider crashed near Scarth Gap, leaving him with a serious leg injury.
Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called out to the incident after he was helped by fellow paragliders, first responders and a member of Keswick Mountain Rescue Team, who was nearby.
A team from Great North Air Ambulance Service was also dispatched due to the nature of his injuries.

He was stabilised on scene by a team paramedic and doctor and winched onboard a Coastguard helicopter, to be transported to a regional trauma centre for treatment.
