An Egremont man is due to be sentenced next month for possessing a kitchen knife in public, damaging two vehicles and destroying another.
Jake Adam Miller, 22, admitted a total of seven offences during a short hearing at Carlisle Crown Court earlier today.
These were having a kitchen knife at The Limes in Egremont without good reason or lawful authority; damaging a Land Rover and Seat Cupra; and destroying a Peugeot Partner van.
Miller also pleaded guilty to two additional criminal damage charges — involving a mobile phone and a front door belonging to a woman — and to sending an electronic communication with intent to cause distress or anxiety.
All offences were committed on May 6 this year.
Judge Nicholas Barker adjourned the case and requested the preparation of a probation service pre-sentence report exploring what he observed was a “relatively serious set of offending” and also the defendant’s personal circumstances.
Judge Barker observed that the crimes admitted by Miller, of Nelson Square, Egremont, were born out of the animosity that you were experiencing at the time, anger and bitterness.
Miller is due to receive his punishment on July 4, was remanded in custody until then and heard that all sentencing options would be open to the judge on that date.
