Carlisle continued their impressive and unbeaten start to the season by earning two points from their opening T20 fixture.
Playing at Keswick in the North group they won well after their target was revised because of rain.
Keswick had opened with 106-9 in 18 overs and Carlisle’s new target after the weather intervened was 97 from 16 overs.
However after 12.3 overs they had claimed the two points on offer by reaching 99-3.
Keswick were struggling at 9-3 but a fine knock of 51 from professional Risith Upamal put some substance into the home innings.
He only faced 42 deliveries and struck five fours and a six. Scott McGown (13) offered most support.
Professional Mike Slack was Carlisle’s most successful bowler taking 3-25 from his four overs.
When 48 came from the opening stand between Tom Benn (30) and Marc Brown (20), Carlisle were well on their way and Slack (30no) made sure they got home with time and wickets to spare.
The other opening game in the North group is taking place tonight at Sandair with Cockermouth hosting Wigton.
Dalton might be struggling in the Cumbria League’s Premier Division but they made a winning start to the T20 competition.
The weather meant their opening game at Millom was reduced to 15 overs a side but they won with seven wickets and eight balls to spare.
Millom had won the toss and elected to bat first reaching 98-7 in their 15 overs.
Dalton responded positively and took the two points when they got to 99-3 after 13.4 overs.
