Distington and Kells A were triumphant in the two BARLA finals held at the Lowca club.
The BARLA Cumbria Shield went first and Kells, despite trailing 14-12 at the break stormed to a 40-14 victory over Hensingham A.
Distington were always in charge against Wath Brow A, scoring 18 points in each half to win 36-0.
Hensingham A had been unable to field a team against Kells A last week in the Amateur Cup but they started positively in the Shield final.
They took the lead on nine minutes when Ryan Corlett crossed and Craig McAvoy landed the conversion.
It was a good battle and it stayed 6-0 until the 27th minute when Hensingham doubled their lead with a try from Michael Maudling, converted by McAvoy.
Kells needed a score and they got it on the half hour when Jamie Jennings crossed and Dan Starkie added the extras.
Five minutes later McAvoy stretched the Hensingham lead with a penalty but Kells had the final word in the half with a second try two minutes before the break.
Scrum half Dan Starkie, who was to emerge as Kells man of the match crossed for a try which he converted.
With a 14-12 interval score in Hensingham’s favour nobody could really have expected the final outcome as Kells scored 28 unanswered points.
Within three minutes Martin O’Neil had given Kells the lead with a try, again converted by Starkie.
It was Starkie who struck on the hour, going in for his second try which he converted.
Then it was Harry Watson who crossed twice in the 69th and 73rd minutes to put the game to bed. Starkie converted both.
Kells seventh try came two minutes from the end by O’Neil, the only one that Starkie failed to convert.
Distington have looked the best team in the Holmen Iggesund Cumberland ARL and they landed the first trophy of the season in the BARLA Cumbria Cup final.

Wath Brow A stayed in the contest through the opening quarter but Distington scored three tries before half-time to take a grip of the game.
Troy Armstrong crossed on 20 minutes and on the half hour Nicky Cook went over.
Three minutes before half-time it was Clayton Sutton’s turn to evade the Wath Brow defence and make the touchdown.
Stand-off Scott George, who was to win the man of the match award, converted all three tries.
Five minutes after the resumption Tyrone Dalton got in on the act with the fourth Distington try.
Credit to the Hornets, however, they stemmed the flow of points although they were unable to make inroads themselves.
The score stayed at 24-0 until the last ten minutes when Shaun Adams crossed twice and both conversions from George took his personal tally to six out of six.
It was fitting that with the finals being staged by the Lowca club. Their chairman Lee Allen should present both trophies.
The man of the match awards were chosen by the match officials.
In the CARL Premier Division Aspatria’s two match winning run ground to a halt at Cockermouth.
The Titans ran away with it in the second-half as they turned a 12-10 interval lead into a 42-22 winning margin.
It was a game that should have been played on June 11, and the pair will go head-to-head again in the reverse fixture on Wednesday.
Aspatria’s recent run of two wins obviously served them well in the first-half as they played with a lot of confidence and enthusiasm.
But Cockermouth asserted in the second-half and ran out clear winners.
Ben Irving led the way for the Titans with a hat-trick of tries and he was joined on the sheet by Luke Armstrong, Matthew Irving, Matthew Wilson and Jack Marsh.
Ryan Scott landed six goals while Matthew Irving kicked one.
For Aspatria Rocco Okesene scored two tries and kicked three goals while there were touchdowns for Mark Irving and Daryl Creighton.
There should have been one more Premier Division game between Maryport and Ellenborough but that was postponed and is to be played on a date to be agreed by both teams.
