Cleator Moor Celtic are still looking for their first win in the North West Counties League.
Despite an improved performance against Daisy Hill, the West Cumbrians were beaten by the only goal of the game.
Manager Brian Dawson said: “I thought the boys executed our game plan perfectly in the first half.
“We were obviously concerned having conceded 10 goals in the previous two games so a tweak of formation and tightening up defensively was a priority.
“We went into half time disappointed not to be in front having missed a couple of really good chances. Had we taken one of them it would have been a different game.
“In the second half I think we lost our identity a little. We were far too direct for my liking and played into their hands really.
“It’s disappointing knowing that the points were there for us, We didn’t take that opportunity but can’t keep making excuses about personnel etc.
“We need to be better and hopefully we can put that right next week against South Liverpool.”
The only goal of the game came on 50 minutes from Daisy Hill’s Connor Hughes.
Celtic’s Cumbrian neighbours Holker Old Boys were 3-0 home winners against Garstang.
Josh Woodend gave them the lead after only five minutes and the advantage was doubled by Tom Dawson on 37 minutes.
Veteran striker Jason Walker got the third from the penalty spot on 53 minutes.
