Furness cruised into the semi-final of the Higson Cup with a comfortable win over Workington at the Valentine Ground.
They eventually won by 100 runs and will meet either Cockermouth or Whitehaven who play the second semi-final at Sandair a week on Sunday, July 19.
Put into bat Lewis Gribbin dominated the early part of the innings and although he lost both Samson Storey (7) and Tom Smith (0) in reaching 55-2 he had done the bulk of the scoring.
When he was eventually out at 83-3 the initiative was taken up by professional Pramod Maduwantha who was 68 not out at the end of the Furness innings. There had been useful support from Mark Daly (30) and George Smith (26).
Furness finished with 198-5 off 41 overs with Kristian Moffat (4-26) the pick of the Workington bowlers.
Home professional Vishva Chathuranga opened the innings and hit a brisk 31 off 26 deliveries before he was caught off veteran Peter Lawson.
It left Workington at 43-4 and they were never able to recover from that position with Moffat (20) and Ryan Clubley (11) the only other batsmen to reach double figures.
Lawson finished with 3-24 from eight overs to see Furness through to another final.
