Barrow AFC has issued a statement following complaints over remarks made during the League Two game with Walsall on Tuesday night.
Derogatory remarks were made at the game from a small number of spectators referring to a Walsall fan who lost his life two months ago.
The Bluebirds said they have since been made aware of those remarks.
“We must emphasise and remind everyone that these remarks do not reflect the opinions, thoughts or values of Barrow AFC, and we deplore any behaviour of its kind.
“As a result, we are working with the relevant authorities to monitor this situation going forward,” the club said.
Barrow won the game 2-1 in front of 3,436 including 169 from Walsall.
