Lake District hotel targeted by thieves

Lambert Manor Hotel

Computer equipment has been stolen from a Lake District hotel in the middle of a revamp.

The Lambert Manor Hotel in Grange-over-Sands was targeted during the evening of August 20 and police are appealing for anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area.

Officers are seeking details or a description of the occupants of a black 2011 Vauxhall Corsa which they believe contained two men. The vehicle was seen in the area earlier in the afternoon.

This vehicle may have been noticed by residents as out of place.

Officers are keen to speak with anyone who may have had cause to speak with these individuals or who can recall this vehicle visiting their premises during the day.

PC Adam Roberts, of South Lakes police, said: “This incident serves as a timely reminder to our communities across the district that opportunistic criminals will target what they feel are isolated and unattended properties.

“We would encourage everyone to take the time to review the security of their premises, be that residential or commercial.

“The installation of CCTV, alarms or security lighting can all reduce the chance of being targeted.  Reporting suspicious incidents helps police to prevent and deter would be criminals and assists in making our communities hostile environments for them to operate in.”

Anyone with information relating to this incident can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it , quoting incident number 81 of 21st August 2022 or call 101.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
