None of the serious contenders for the 2022 senior and puppy championship crowns were able to make progress at the last two meetings.

Huntsman’s Que was unlucky in running at Wasdale and in the end could only manage fifth place to remain three points behind senior table leader Duchess Ava.

The race was won by Stephen Riley and Isla Hetherington’s Cautious from Denis Peare and Jackie Gill’s Miterdale Duchess.

The open pups was won by Christine Brownlee’s Malia who beat Huntsman’s Rally who continues to find one too good as this was a 12th second place. She is currently being trained by Glenis and Raymond Farren.

Current puppy table runner-up Ned’s Gain could only manage fifth place in a field of just six.

The open maidens went to the in-form Napiers as Foxparke Whoosh won to add to the two kennel victories the night before. Christine Brownle was close to a double as her Manna finished second.

The scene switched to Calebreak last night with an increase in numbers as it remains one of the HTA’s most popular venues in the calendar.

After a win on Tuesday Martha was fancied to go in again but she could only manage second place in the seniors behind Brian Graham’s Reebok.

Lady Million was back on track to take the puppy trail after her scare on Sunday at Wythop when she made a mistake and fell foul of a fence. Luckily she appears to have come to no harm and showed her well-being for Brian and Joy Lister by beating the current puppy championship leader Huntsman‘s Rebel who followed her over the line.

In the final trail there were 33 runners for the open restricted and it was Mark Bryden and co’s Eagle Girl who led them home from James and Emily Irving’s Overwater Eddie and Overwater Flash.
