Carlisle will be without opening batsman and wicket-keeper Tom Benn for Saturday’s penultimate game at Egremont.
In a tense finish to the Cumbria League Premier Division season Carlisle still have a five point lead over Cockermouth.
Without Benn, a former Cumbria county keeper, Ben Davidson will fill-in behind the stumps.
Carlisle have brought in bowler Chris Blythe for Benn as the only change from the side which beat Millom last week.
Egremont, whose main objective this season was to stay in the top flight after promotion, should achieve that as they are currently 18 points above bottom side Dalton.
Cockermouth are at home to Workington, who retained the Higson Cup last month and were runners-up in the T20 final, but have been rather inconsistent in League cricket.
On their day they have one of the best bowling attacks in the League but have often been let down by the depth of their batting.
Earlier in the season they lost at home to Cockermouth in a low-scoring game in which they seemed to be in a very strong position.
As far as relegation is concerned that will be settled if Dalton lose their game at Millom.
Whitehaven, who enjoyed a very good win at Keswick last week, have edged their way to the brink of survival and tackle a Copeland derby at Cleator.
Keswick’s season has followed a similar pattern to previous years – in contention until the closing stages when they no longer are able to put-out their strongest team.
They have lost their last two games against Wigton and Whitehaven and make the trip to Haverigg.
Wigton play their final home game of the season against the 2021 champions Furness, who are likely to finish fourth this time round.
As for who comes up from Division One, Lindal Moor are now ten points clear going into the final game.
They beat their nearest rivals Ulverston last week by four wickets and only need a point at Hawcoat Park to return to the top flight.
