Man arrested and biker airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after West Cumbrian crash

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a collision in West Cumbria.

The collision happened near Maryport Golf club at around 4pm yesterday, September 11.

It involved a black Ford Fiesta, red Fiat Panda and a Kawasaki motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 70s, was airlifted to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary.

The driver of the Fiat was uninjured and the driver of the Ford sustained minor cuts.

The driver of the Ford, a 41-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving a motor vehicle when alcohol above the limit. He has been released under investigation.
