A renowned Cumbrian artist is set to collaborate with a lakeside hotel to bring her art out into the wild.
Sarah Taylor, whose work is in galleries and private collections across the world, is teaming up with Another Place, The Lake to put on an outdoor exhibition among the hotel’s shoreside gardens, meadows and trees.
The pieces set to be exhibited include ‘Embers’ the fox and ‘Elvis’ the goat as well as some of Sarah’s famous highland cow portraits all in her vibrant distinctive ink-blowing art style.
Until the end of October, people are being invited to visit the gardens to see if they can find all ten of Sarah’s canvasses hanging amongst the landscape.
Sarah said: “Galleries can be quite stuffy and unapproachable for people, so I love the idea of stumbling across some art while exploring a beautiful garden. To have a huge painting in a tree – why not?! It makes you smile. That’s what my art is all about.”
Will Ashworth, Another Place CEO said: “Sarah’s striking creations celebrate the natural world, as well as having a strong sense of fun – so feel like the perfect way to celebrate our reimagined gardens. And Laurel Truscott, our landscape architect, has worked tirelessly on transforming our outside spaces; we’re so impressed by how she’s brought her vision to life. We’re excited to invite everyone in to explore.”
Sarah has previously exhibited her work along the Eskdale valley railway line as part of the Cumbrian arts festival, C-Art.
