Lit fireworks were being tossed out of a moving van in Carlisle.
Police are appealing for witnesses and any video footage as they investigate the incident, which took place on Tuesday at about 10pm on Cumwhinton Road.
The white Ford Transit – registration YS08MXT – was spotted after the front seat passenger started letting off fireworks out of the window.
The car travelled through Cumwhinton, Cotehill and Armathwaite before being found, abandoned, in Armathwaite.
Police are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the driving and actions of the passenger. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone with dashcam or CCTV which may help.
