Health and wellbeing festival in Furness

A festival celebrating health and wellbeing will be held in Walney on Sunday.

The free Furness Running Health and Wellbeing Festival takes place between 8am and 2pm at Walney School.

There will be indoor and outdoor activities, including sport, the opportunity to make fruit kebabs and wraps, a community corner, always active area, creative corner and a wellbeing area with a quiet space for yoga and active listeners.

Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust’s Health, Advice, Recovery, Resilience and Information (HARRI) bus will offer health checks.

There will also be a running festival with 10k, 5k runs and a one-mile family fun run on Walney Island.

The one-mile fun run will start at 9.30am with the 5k and 10k runs following at 10.30am. Registration for the runs and more details can be found at https://www.fyldecoastrunners.com/walney-island-10k.html

The event has been organised by Barrow Integrated Care Community (ICC), Walney Wind Cheetahs, Cumbria County Council, British Aerospace (BAE) Systems, Mind in Furness and Me and My Health.
