Workington Town have continued their building for life in League One by signing a popular former player.
Scrum-half Ciaran Walker left towards the end of the season when Town’s financial difficulties were made public.
He returned to his amateur roots with Seaton Rangers and played for the club in the National Conference Third Division.
Now that Anthony Murray has been installed as the new Town coach he and director of rugby Gary Murdock are working at building a competitive squad for next year.
Walker was a natural to follow up and tempt back as he proved an able performer in the Championship, and with youth on his side.
Walker had been spotted by Newcastle Thunder at a development day they organised and he went through their Academy and Reserve set-ups.
He was signed for Workington ahead of the 2022 season with coach Chris Thorman suggesting he had all the attributes to make a good first team half-back.
