Cumbria’s survivors in the FA Vase both have home draws in the first round proper on October 22.
Kendal Town’s reward for their excellent 3-1 home win over Guisborough Town is a tie at Parkside Road against Longridge Town.
Holker Old Boys put up an excellent performance to win 1-0 at Padiham with a goal from Nathan Read on 78 minutes and that has earned them a home tie against Whickham from the north east.
Longridge Town, like Kendal are members of the North West Counties Premier League but have made a poor start to the season and are currently fourth bottom three points behind the Mintcakes from a game more.
They won 4-2 on Saturday at Northallerton of the Northern League but the big tie-up with Kendal is that their manager is former Mintcakes boss Lee Ashworth who has been in charge at Longridge for 10 years.
Kendal chairman Michael O’Neill said: “Really hsappy that we’ve got Longridge and there will be a warm welcome back to Parkside Road for Lee Ashworth.
“I know that they are on a bit of a blip at the moment but Lee’s sides are always difficult to play against and that will be no different this time.
“As a fan you sometimes look to go somewhere different to meet new clubs but firmly with my commercial hat on this is a great draw at home to a club with a good following.”
Holker OB’s opponents Whickham lie fifth in the Northern League First Division, level on points with Carlisle City but from two less games. They are seven points behind leaders Bishop Auckland with two games in hand.
On Saturday, in Bradford against Albion Sports, they scored a 90th minute goal to win 4-3 and had a player sent-off in the 94th minute.
Cleator Moor Celtic lost 2-0 at home to Eccleshill United in the Vase with both goals coming in the first-half.
Manager Brian Dawson said: “I think over the game we were the better footballing side box to box but they were more clinical when they needed to be. Credit to them for a well organised defence which we failed to penetrate.
“But after being 2-0 down against a side from a level higher I was pleased with how the lads knuckled down and performed in the second-half.
“The League is our target for the season and I’m looking for us to be moving up the table in the weeks ahead starting on Saturday when we travel to Bacup Borough.”
