The race for the HTA senior championship continues to hot up with Jenny’s Quest the latest to improve her chances.
She won the opening trail at Stockdale to close the gap on leader Duchess Ava as the chasers continue to bunch up behind her.
Another of the contenders, Miterdale Duchess had finished third at Eskdale on Saturday and was out again but this time could only finish fifth of 15.
Table leader Huntsman’s Rebel was sent-off favourite for the puppy trail but could only manage a well beaten third as the race really revolved round Foxparke Beep Beep and Sweet Dreams.
They showed together on the finish and were neck and neck on the run ton the line where Beep Deep just did enough to get in front for a narrow victory.
There were only six maidens competing in that particular grade and it was Colin Satterthwaite’s Thorn Crackle that got home in first from Brian and Joy Lister’s Imagine.
The puppy maiden race went to Mark Bryden and Linda Neale’s Eagle Love, which beat Clementine owned by Stanley and Carol Jackson.
However, in the final race for open restricted there was better luck for the Jacksons as Charisma denied Colin Satterthwaite a double with Thorn Snap.
