
A man in his 70s has been seriously injured after a collision in a Lake District town.
Police are at the scene of the incident at Market Place in Ambleside following a report at 8am today, October 10.
The collision involved a Renault Magane and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian – a man in his 70s – was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with serious injuries.
The driver of the Renault, a 33-year-old man was uninjured. He has been arrested in connection with the collision.
The road was closed while officers conducted an investigation. It reopened at around 2.30pm.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses that stopped at the scene of the collision to get in touch.
