Carlisle City

Holders Carlisle City have another home draw in the second round of the Cumberland Cup.

The first team to go through after a 13-1 win at Gillford Park against Braithwaite they follow up against Maryport Athletic.

Maryport Athletic got through on Saturday with a 2-0 home win against fellow County League side Silloth.

Carlisle United, who got through 5-0 at Cleator Moor Celtic on Tuesday, have been drawn at home to County League side Bransty Rangers who had a bye in the first round.

There’s a good tie in prospect at Borough Park where Workington Reds will host Wearside League side Windscale.

Reds might give several of their first team squad a run out in a mid-week fixture or could opt to rely on their Development side who play in the County League.

Penrith, like the Reds, had a first round bye and they have a home tie in round two against the County League’s Gosforth, who will have the longest trip of all to contest the game.

Whitehaven, from the West Lancashire League, are rewarded for their 4-1 win at Wetheriggs Utd with a home tie against Kirkoswald.

In an all-Westmorland League affair Langwathby will entertain Greystoke.

One first round tie is being played on Saturday – Cockermouth v Aspatria and the winners will be at home to Keswick, who had a first round bye.

No date has been issued so far for the date of the second round games.
