The points against column continues to rise for Carlisle, but so too does the list of injured players.
With late withdrawals, then a couple of injuries in the warm-up, Carlisle were only able to field one replacement at Percy Park before going down to a 50-12 defeat.
To make matters worse they lost full-back Freddie Rawling with a broken arm at the end of the first half, so had no options left on the touchline.
The home side deserved the win no although Carlisle were never completely out of the game. They just couldn’t convert the significant possession they had, especially in the home 22, and with numerical superiority in the second half, into points.
After both sides had failed with penalty shots at goal Percy Park took the lead on eight minutes. Winning a line-out deep in the Carlisle 22 their giant lock forward crashed through for the opening try which was converted.

Ill-discipline from the home side gave Carlisle a number of penalties, but they were unable to capitalise on them, and would rue those missed chances later on.
A scrum to Carlisle, which they struggled with all day, was lost and the home side quickly spread the ball left and down the touchline for their second try on 24 minutes.
Carlisle were not giving up though and from the re-start, another penalty gave Carlisle an opportunity for a five=metre line-out. A trick play was picked up by Vinny Lung, but he was unable to break through a solid Park defence.
Another dominant scrum by Percy Park set up their third try on the half hour mark, followed by a fourth from a pushover scrum just short of half time for a 26-0 lead at the break.

Down to the bare 15 Carlisle res[ponded admirably and they had Percy Park on the back foot. Further indiscipline and a yellow card, gave Carlisle the opportunity to explore the gaps, and John Walker crashed over for their first try.
Unfortunately Park just raced up the pitch and countered that score with their own fifth while a sixth followed five minutes later.
Carlisle hit back by finding some space out wide for the sole substitute Ed Polley to go over for their second try on the hour mark.
Once more the home response was to raced back up the field to score another a few minutes later to push the score to 45-12.
Carlisle then had a considerable amount of possession for the last quarter of the game and were helped by more indiscipline from the home side.
They were unable to convert it into points, and it was left to Park to finish the game off at the end with an unconverted try.
