People and organisations across the county are preparing for this year’s Remembrance Day.
Events to pay tribute to those lost in war are taking place alongside a number of poppy installations that are appearing around Cumbria.
Millom Town Council finished installing a poppy wall in the town’s Market Square earlier this week.
A town council spokesman said: “A request to the parishioners in Millom and surrounding areas was posted asking for volunteers to make poppies for the poppy wall. Millom Town Council was overwhelmed with the amount of poppies made as over five thousand were received.
“Volunteers and members of the council worked hard to fasten all the poppies onto the wires and the final one placed on the miner completed the project. Without the help of all the volunteers this would not have happened and Millom Town Council would like to thank everyone who contributed to the project.”
