Helen Skelton is fighting for her place in Strictly Come Dancing – and Cumbria can make a difference.
For the pride of the county and Helen’s self-confidence, let’s show the Strictly judges that we believe in Eden’s dancing queen.
Tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing live show saw Helen and her dance partner Gorka Marquez give it their all on the dancefloor – but it wasn’t enough for the judges.
Despite Helen making massive strides over the last few weeks – and receiving a standing ovation for her jive at Blackpool – this week has seen the pair in the bottom two of the leaderboard.
The pair performed a samba to Eso Beso by Emma Bunton that left them with a score of 29 and the judges had very mixed feedback for the stars.
Craig Revel Horwood said: “It was straight, it was very wooden – but it had fantastic personality, you brought that to the floor at least.”
Motsi Mabuse said: “Your weight was a little bit tilted back and because of that you couldn’t get that rhythm in the body, but what I did see honestly is that you guys put a lot of work in there.”
Shirley Ballas added: “Self belief is a major key to life and I’ve watched you since the beginning and you came out here tonight with new found confidence, but I thought for 75 per cent you did some good samba, so I thought for a difficult dance that you did it well.”
This means they will be taking part in the dance-off – screened tomorrow night – and every vote counts for the Cumbrian TV presenter.
The pair are hanging on in there and we believe Helen deserves a shot for the Strictly glitterball.
The county has taken her to their hearts over the last 10 weeks and now is your chance to make a difference to her Strictly journey.
