People are urged to have their say about plans for a new waste incinerator on a Carlisle industrial estate.
It is the second consultation from the Environment Agency, following the application by Fortum Carlisle Limited for the incinerator on Kingmoor Park.
The agency said it was minded to grant approval for the scheme, but wants to hear people’s views before it made a final decision.
The consultation, which closes on January 27 2023, is four weeks longer than usual, because, the agency said, Christmas and New Year could make it harder for people to respond.
All documents can be viewed and commented on at https://consult.environment-agency.gov.uk/psc/ca6-4se-fortum-carlisle-limited-ca6-4se.

John Neville, area environment manager for the Environment Agency, said: “We are committed to doing everything possible to listen to the views of local people and other organisations as part of our rigorous permitting process.
“After carefully considering all information and views submitted during our last consultation on this site, we are now consulting again on our draft decision and inviting comments from anyone who has an interest in the proposed facility.”
Campaign group Carlisle Residents Against Incinerator – was set up to oppose the plans.
