Parents in West Cumbria are urged to check where their children are at night following dangerous behaviour which is believed to involve young people.
Objects were thrown from the bridge at Main Road in Seaton last night, December 1, as cars passed below.
Police said they were investigating.
Officers said they were also aware about more general concerns over anti-social behaviour in Seaton and high-visibility patrols were being deployed, as well as work with partner agencies.
Young people from other parts of the town are known to visit the area as well as those living more locally.
Sergeant Leesa Edwards said: “Thankfully, we are not aware of anyone being hurt and no serious damage caused following this incident. It is believed hard sweets or some similar type objects were thrown.
“Obviously, if these hit a travelling car they could potentially cause a collision, so no matter what the object, it should not happen.
“We would ask for anyone who has any information about this incident or anti-social behaviour to contact us.
“We would also ask all parents to make sure they know where their children are at night and what they may be doing and make them aware of the potential consequences of such behaviour.”
As well as high-visibility patrols, officers will be working with partner agencies to address anti-social behaviour.
