Colne will have a noon inspection today to see if their rearranged NPL West game can go ahead at night.
Prospects aren’t good, however, in East Lancashire and there’s a general feeling that it will end in the inevitable postponement.
The original fixture was postponed because of Colne’s involvement at the time in the FA Trophy.
Colne were not due to play at home on Saturday but their game at 1874 Northwich was called off because of their hosts’ frozen pitch.
They are also due to play away this coming Saturday so in normal circumstances would have been keen to get tonight’s home fixture on – but the weather looks as though it may have conspired against them.
Leek Town, one of Reds top four rivals are also due to play tonight at Skelmersdale with the top two Macclesfield and Runcorn Linnets without a fixture.
