
Cumbria scored a double in the November Club of the Month awards for the North West Counties League.
Kendal Town were winners in the Premier Division while Holker Old Boys took the award in First Division North.
The league have a formula to work out our Club of the Month based on whether games were home and away and the quality of the opposition.
It was a strong month for Congleton Town in the Premier Division after winning six of their seven games but were let down by a defeat in their final game to give them a 2.43 average for the month.
Avro were unbeaten in the month including three 3-1 away victories in the league, giving them an average of 2.71. However pipping them both to the accolade to win the award for the first time were Kendal Town.
They had a 2-0 away win at Northwich Victoria followed by a draw at Charnock Richard. They then scored eight without replay against Kirkby Stephen in the County Cup, and followed this up with a 4-1 win at Burscough.
Two successive home wins followed as they beat Congleton Town 2-1 and Barnoldswick Town 3-1. This gave them 18 points from 6 games for a 3.0 average.
It was a high scoring month in the First Division North with three teams scoring over a three point average. One was Chadderton who had three successive wins including two on the road, with a goalless draw at Euxton Villa giving them an average of 3.25.
FC St Helens had a great month, with three victories in the league and two away draws against teams from the Premier Division. That gave them a 3.4 average. Just pipping them though and winning the award was Holker Old Boys.
They had two 1-0 away wins in the league at Runcorn Town and Darwen. Sandwiched between them was a 3-1 home win against Premier Division side FC Isle of Man. The month was rounded off with a home draw against Steeton, which gave them 14 points from their four games for a 3.5 average.
