A Cumbrian company is celebrating 20 years in business by dedicating 20 days of support for charities and organisations this month.

Carlisle-based PPM provides repairs and maintenance services and disabled adaptations for properties across the North West and Yorkshire.

It is marking its anniversary by giving donations to local charities, chosen by staff, as well as employees giving up work hours to go and volunteer to do tasks for various groups in the Third Sector.

Beth Nicholls, communications and development manager for PPM said: “We are really excited to be celebrating this fantastic business milestone, the work we do within the community is very important to us as a business and we thought it would be a brilliant way of adding to the celebrations to complete 20 days of giving.

“It’s fantastic that our amazing PPM team are always so eager to support and get involved in volunteering and charity giving, everyone has been incredibly generous with their time and also donations.”

The company has been involved in tasks including conservation work for the Cumbria Wildlife Trust and Eden Rivers Trust, where trees were planted to mark National Tree Week 2022. They also helped at a veterans’ Christmas lunch and provided support to food banks in Cumbria and Yorkshire.

Over £2,000 has been donated to charities chosen by the PPM team including West Cumbrian animal shelter, Ani-mel Haven Animal Sanctuary, MND North & West Cumbria Group, Andy’s Man Club and Cumbria Community Foundation’s Winter Warmth Appeal.

PPM was set up in 2002 in Workington, before its head office opened in Carlisle. The company’s clients include private landlords, housing associations and councils.

It has depots in Penrith, Flimby and Millom, plus one in West Yorkshire, providing services to more than 10,000 homes and employing 110 people.
