Cumbria’s Marathon Man Gary McKee has completed his final challenge this morning – his last 26.2 miles of the year.

Gary, of Cleator Moor, has run 365 marathons in 2022 – and today marks the end of his epic fund-raising adventure.

His aim was to raise £1 million for Hospice at Home West Cumbria and Macmillan Cancer Support – and over the last few days, over £200,000-worth of donations have rolled in – plus £55,000 from his employers Sellafield Ltd.

The total on his Justgiving page stands at £855,838 – a whopping £300,000 up from this morning and there is still time to donate. Visit https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/threesixfive

It was announced this afternoon that all donations in total have raised £1 million.

By the time he finished today, Gary will have run 9,526-and-a-half miles for a total of 1,140 hours. He has been featured in the national media and gone through dozens of pairs of trainers.
