Cumbria goes wild for Prime drink as bottles resell for up to £50

Bottles of the ‘impossible to get’ Prime Hydration drink are being resold for up to £50 in Cumbria.

The drink has crazed the nation’s teenagers and the huge demand has caused shortages, fuelling massive resale prices online and in smaller stores.

Resellers have listed bottles of the drink – which comes in flavours including Lemon Lime, Blue Raspberry and Ice Pop – from £15 to £50 per bottle on sites including eBay and Facebook Marketplace.

Prime, which is made in America, was originally exclusively sold in Asda stores across the UK, but was also made available in Aldi just last week as a special buy for £1.99.

The release of the drink in Cumbria’s Aldi stores led to hundreds of shoppers queuing from as early as 6am in the rush to get a bottle.

The sold out shelves at Workington’s Asda.

Those lucky enough to get their hands on the drink in a supermarket are only allowed one of each flavour and it’s so desirable that resellers also sell empty bottles to fans.

Created by YouTubers and boxing rivals KSI and Logan Paul, the drink is made up of 10 per cent coconut water, electrolytes, B vitamins, BCAAs, zero sugar and has around 20 calories per bottle, the manufactures claim.

The duo have also announced the launch of another new Prime product, Prime Energy, a caffeinated energy drink which is yet to become available in the UK.

It is understood that staff at Cumbria’s smaller ASDA stores have stopped selling the drinks due to security risks, but that this may change in the future.

Where can I find Prime?

The official Prime website has listed the following locations as verified sellers of the electrolyte drink.

ASDA Preston Street, Whitehaven

ASDA Moss Bay Road, Workington

ASDA Dunmail Park, Workington

ASDA Walney Road, Barrow-In-Furness

ASDA Chandler Way, Carlisle

ASDA St Nicholas Gate Retail Park London Road, Carlisle

ASDA Burton Road, Kendal

ALDI Derwent Drive, Workington

ALDI Preston Street, Whitehaven
