Teenagers queue at Cumbria’s Asda stores for Prime drink

Youngsters across Cumbria have been queueing for a celebrity-endorsed drink that has sent the nation crazy.

Prime Hydration – created by YouTubers Logan Paul and KSI – has sent teenagers across the UK wild trying to get their hands on the drink, and Cumbria is no exception to the rule.

Staff at Whitehaven and Workington’s Asda stores have said teenagers have been queuing before opening times in the hopes of getting their hands on the drink first.

It is understood that staff at the county’s smaller stores where there is no security have been told they have to stop selling the drinks due to security risks, but that this may change in the future.

One staff member from Whitehaven, who asked not to be named, said: “We’ve had people queuing up in the mornings before we opened trying to be the first in for the drink. It’s only sold at Asda, but people have been selling it everywhere from corner shops to Facebook’s market place – it has been mental.”

Asda stores are exclusively stocking the new drink, which is popular in the USA, but the drinks in the UK are quickly being scooped by resellers, who are listing the drink for up to £10,000 on Ebay.

YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul, who between them have more than 50 million subscribers, developed the drink together. It is reported that part of the drink’s popularity is down to the duos huge, young fanbases.

A spokesperson for Asda said: “It’s only stocked in our larger superstores, which are all receiving regular deliveries. Due to its popularity, there is a three bottles per customer limit. The decision to move Prime into our superstores was made to ensure we can continue to supply our stores with regular deliveries.”
