Carlisle United have suffered a blow through losing on-loan striker Jack Stretton.
Parent club Derby County have sold Stretton to ambitious Stockport County after recalling him from his loan spell with the Blues.
County have received an undisclosed fee for the striker whose contract was up in the summer and faced a tough task in breaking into Paul Warne’s first team despite an eye-catching spell with Carlisle.
Stockport have held a long-standing interest in Stretton after he spent time on loan at Edgeley Park last year.
And the ambitious League Two side have finally landed him on a permanent deal as they aim to push for a play-off place in the second half of the season.
Stretton joined Carlisle on a season-long loan in the summer and has scored twice for the Cumbrians this season and despite a couple of injury setbacks has impressed everyone at Brunton Park..
