Belle Vue stretched their lead at the top of the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership to six points with a 50-40 win at King’s Lynn.
Workington Comets’ young Australian Tate Zischke carded an important 8 + 2 and had clinched victory with a 5-1 in Heat 14 alongside Zach Cook
The Aces were successful for the second time this season at the Adrian Flux Arena with the result also seeing the Stars drop out of the play-off places.
The hosts had fought back from an eight-point deficit to move level after Heat 10, but the visitors edged back ahead and their top two of Brady Kurtz and Jason Doyle ended things in style in Heat 15.
Doyle dropped just one point as he scored 13+1 whilst Kurtz added 12+1.
Meanwhile Comets skipper Troy Batchelor helped Northampton to a 45-45 draw at home to Sheffield Tigers.
In the end Sheffield skipper Josh Pickering came up with a magnificent Heat 15 effort to salvage the draw and lift his side back into the play-off places.
The Foxes were on a 5-1 with Niels-Kristian Iversen and Batchelor but Pickering overtook both for a match-saving 3-3.
Iversen and Batchelor both scored 11+1 for the home side, who picked up league points at home for the second time, whilst Pickering’s (14) only defeat came to Kye Thomson in Heat 6, and Chris Holder scored 10.
