Wath Brow A and Lowca will meet in the final of the Cumbria Men’s League Cup after their victories on Saturday.
The Hornets second string beat Askam 30-6 at Giel Park while Lowca overcame visitors Aspatria Hornets 50-12.
At Wath Brow the Hornets moved through to the final after seeing-off a gritty challenge from Askam.
It was 18-0 at half-time after Dean Pattinson, Kaleb Crosby and Fletcher Creasey had crossed for tries, all converted by Sam Curwen.
Curwen kicked a penalty and then Tom Chambers went over for a try on the re-start before Askam gave themselves hope of salvaging something by scoring a converted try.
But Wath Brow finished strongly with another try by Logan Fowler converted by man of the match Curwen.
At Lowca the tie was a game of contrasting halves with the home side edging the first 40 minutes narrowly at 16-12, but then they ran away with the game in the second period.
Arguably Aspatria could have led at half-time but squandered two or three good opportunities.
They had gone ahead after only four minutes when centre Francis Dixon powered through from a subtle James Robinson pass to score the opening try.
Lowca responded quickly to even the score and then got their noses in front with an unconverted try out wide on 21 minutes.
The Hornets went back in front on 25 minutes when Ben Tootill broke through after a nice show and go before adding the extras.
Lowca replied quickly to lead by four points at the break and playing down the slope got the perfect start with a try in the first minute.
The Hornets were unlucky not to narrow the gap when hooker Keanen Foster touched down only to be adjudged to have knocked-on in the process.
But it was Lowca who really responded and they ran away with the game by scoring a further four tries.
Scoring the Lowca tries were Ace Savage (2), Josh Jackson, Jordan Allen, Ashton Briscoe, Emerson Allen, Addison Callander, Finn Barwise and Evan Hodgson. Jamie Scott kicked seven goals.
In the Men’s League Trophy Roose Pioneers had a walkover against Cockermouth Titans.
Glasson Rangers, bidding to reach their first final in 11 years, went down 35-16 at Hensingham A in the Men’s League Shield
The Hensingham tries came from Deon Crowe (2), Luke Richardson, Dane Richardson, Taylan Buchanan and Miller Wood. Dane Richardson kicked five goals and Luke Clement put over a field goal.
Glasson replied with tries from Luke Johnson (2) and Connor Wilson. Johnson and Keelan Morris kicked a goal apiece.
