Five minutes into the second-half North Wales Crusaders led Barrow Raiders 24-22 in Nathan Mossop’s testimonial.
But at the final hooter Barrow had turned it round to win the high-scoring, entertaining contest by 54-24.
It had taken only five minutes for Barrow to take the lead when a flowing move ended with Ryan Johnston crashing over and Ryan Shaw adding the extras.
Testm=imonial man Mossop scored the second try on ten minutes when he followed a break from Ellis Gillam to dive over under the posts. Shaw converted.
The Crusaders, now coached by former Barrow prop Carl Forster, put their first points on the board after 14 minutes. Jordan Andrade went over and Brad Billsborough converted.
Debutant Ellis Archer had only been on the pitch for eight seconds when he scored Barrow’s third try for a 16-6 lead.
Johnston scored his second try on 25 minutes and Shaw’s conversion suggested that the Raiders might run away with it.
But the Crusaders finished the half strongly with Jonathan Griffiths and Bradley Brennan scoring tries which were both converted by Billsborough.
Then at the start of the second half the visitors got in front with a try by Jack Houghton which Billsborough converted.
That was it, though, from the Crusaders and when Barrow quickly regained the lead on 48 minutes with a try from Rio Corkill, converted by Shaw, they took charge.
Corkill, Archer, ex Whitehaven winger Andrew Bulman, Mossop and Danny Langtree all crossed for tries.
