Fix the Fells has been given a £7,000 boost by a Lake District hotel group.
The owners of the Cragwood, Merewood and Briery Wood hotels in Windermere invite guests to donate to the charity when they book.
Now Lake District Country Hotels has presented the cash to the Lake District Foundation, Fix the Fells’ fundraiser.
Joseph Cobb, hotel group executive manager, said: “Here at Lake District Country Hotels we are delighted to have been able to contribute to such an inspiring charity with the help of our guests’ donations.
“We are most fortunate to be located in the most wonderful World Heritage Site, so to be able to give towards any scheme which preserves this area of outstanding natural beauty makes both our team and our guests proud.”
Fix the Fells – a multi-agency project that repairs and maintains upland paths in the Lake District – needs £500,000 each year to carry out is vital work.
Steve Tonkin, of the Lake District Foundation said: “This is an amazing effort by Lake District Country Hotels and their guests. The funds are much-needed and will go towards the important work of Fix the Fells.”
