Barrow manager Pete Wild has apologised to the team’s fans for the performance in their 5-1 defeat at Carlisle.
Although Wild had been happy with the first 44 minutes at Brunton, “an offside goal” put Carlisle ahead and the second-half was a disaster.
“I feel as though we disrespected the fans with that performance. Four individual mistakes led to the goals and it just keeps on happening so it’s something we are addressing right now.
“It’s up to us to put things right, cut out the individual errors and get back to how we were at the start of the season challenging at the top.
“Maybe it shows where we are as a football club – in transition – but I’m afraid the second-half performance was simply not good enough. The fans weren’t happy and quite rightly so.
“We can set them up tacticically but at the end of the day you can’t legislate for individual errors which are costing us.” he said.
Would felt that Jon Mellish’s opening goal just before half-time should have been disallowed as he claimed the player was “four yards offside.”
Barrow have slipped to ninth in the table and on Saturday visit an improving Colchester.
