Match of the day in the Cumbria League’s Premier Division is a key contest in the race for the title.
Leaders Keswick, who were beaten at Millom two weeks ago, entertain third-in-the-table Cockermouth who are just four points behind.
The sides did meet last week at Fitz Park in the League’s T20 competition and Cockermouth won comfortably.
But the longer format should be a more even contest with both sides possessing potential match-winners.
Coming up strongly on the rails are Furness, the reigning champions who have climbed the table in eye-catching fashion and now sit just two points behind the leaders.
They face an intriguing trip to Whitehaven, who started the season in great form – the last team to be beaten but have since been on an alarming run of five successive defeats.
Down to sixth in the table, 30 points behind Keswick, they need a win badly to stop the rot especially as they have a big Higson Cup semi-final on Sunday at Cockermouth.
Millom, who toppled Keswick a fortnight ago, are up to fourth in the table and will expect to continue their upward trajectory when they visit nbottom of the table Carlisle seconds who are still looking for their first win.
Veteran skipper Graham Dawson and pro Nathan Waterston have been in good form, but one or two of their younger players like Callum High, Oscar Mackie and Lacklan Wilson are starting to make an impression.
Wigton entertain Dalton in what looks to be a well-balanced game as there is only a point between them in the table – Wigton 8th on 51 and Dalton 9th on 50 with both teams having won three times.
The fifth game is at the Valentine Ground where Workington entertain Cleator, having also hosted the village side last week when they beat them in the T20 competition.
