Cockermouth will have a starring role in a new BBC TV series on Monday.
Sean fletcher and Edith Bowman visited the town in September for the Taste Cumbria food festival. They spent the day filming at the festival for the new series, Food Fest England.
The series will launch on BBC One at 8.30pm on Monday and Taste Cumbria is the first food festival to be featured.
The BBC said: “Sean Fletcher and Edith Bowman explore Cockermouth’s food festival, meeting passionate food producers, and getting tips on homemade pitta bread from a MasterChef winner Irini Tzortzoglou.”
Edith and Sean were filming in Cockermouth over the festival weekend with Taste Cumbria regulars Andy Walsh, of The Coffee Kitchen Bakery, and Tony Harrison, of Harrison’s Butchers.
Edith said: “I grew up in a hotel so food has always been part of my DNA. I’m incredibly excited to explore different part of the UK to celebrate the food we produce.”
Sean added: “Food and the way it is made, from farm to fork or picker to producer, has always been a passion of mine. It must be obvious because I tend to be given the food assignments on TV shows!”
