Holker Old Boys maintained their promotion challenge in the NW Counties Division One North with a hard-fought 1-0 win at Ashton Town.
The only goal of a tight game came from Jamie Hodgson on the hour and kept the Barrow side well in contention.
They are currently fourth in the table 11 points behind leaders Pilkington but with three games in hand.
Holker also have games in hand of all the other main promotion contenders as they bid to improve on last season when they lost in the play-off final 2-1 to Golcar United.
But while Holker are making every effort to get out of the League at the top end Cleator Moor Celtic are in a fight to stay in it at the bottom.
They were unable to stage their key home game with third bottom Nelson yesterday because of a waterlogged pitch and remain seven points adrift of safety.
They are back on the road on Tuesday to Ashton Town who lost at home to Holker on Saturday. They are currently fourth bottom seven points better off than Celtic but from three more games.
Holker are also in action on Tuesday night when they entertain Euxton Villa who are three points behind the south Cumbrians just outside the play-off positions.
