Barrow will be looking to put a third successive win together tonight for the third time this season.
Those two previous winning bursts came early in the serason when the Bluebirds were among the pace-setters in League Two.
They had fallen to mid-table but wins at Bradford City and then at home to Stockport – two play-off challengers – has re-invigorated Pete Wild’s men.
Barrow are 11th in the table just five points outside the play-offs while Salford are sixth and have that advantage with Mansfield over the Bluebirds.
Tonight’s game should have been played in January but was the subject of a late postponement because of a part-frozen pitch, and after Salford had arrived.
Salford manager Neil Wood, the former Man Utd Under-23’s coach said: “Barrow have got real strengths. I’ve said it all along in this league, it’s a strange league, anyone can beat anyone on their day.
“They’re all tight games, and we know it’s going to be a tough game. Pete’s got them doing well and has got them going.
“Like every team they’ve had a bit of a blip, having a bit of a run where they didn’t have wins but they’ve shown how they are capable of bouncing back.
“We’ve had some good performances and not the right results we wanted, but confidence has still been high and we still believe in what we’re doing,
“I think that showed on Saturday with our 5-2 win at Mansfield. We have to take that forward, and we have to take that confidence and that performance into the Barrow game.”
