
Barrow Raiders were out of luck in the draw for the fourth round of the Challenge Cup.
Paul Crarey and his men might have been hoping for some good fortune when the draw was made at the neighbouring Millom amateur rugby league club to mark it’s 150th anniversary.
Into the draw as ball number one they were last out, meaning an away tie – and it couldn’t have been any tougher. They must travel to Halifax Panthers who knocked-out the Championship’s top side Featherstone on Sunday.
However, if they can overcome that trick tie, Barrow would have a home game in round five at home to either Midlands Hurricanes or Bradford Bulls.
By one of those quirks of fixture planning the Raiders and Panthers will have a dress rehearsal for the Challenge Cup tie as they meet at Barrow a week earlier in the Championship.
The next two rounds of the competition have been drawn, with the four survivors from the next two stages set to make up the semi-finals of the 1895 Cup while also joining the twelve Super League clubs in the last 16 of the Challenge Cup draw.
The two remaining amateur clubs, Hunslet ARLFC and Rochdale Mayfield, have both been handed home ties against Championship opponents in the shape
