Having earned their first Championship win of the season Barrow head coach Paul Crarey says it has massively boosted confidence.
The Raiders beat Halifax Panthers 16-12 and will actually meet the same opposition at the weekend in the fourth round of the Challenge Cup.,
He said: “Plenty of confidence will have been gained from that victory. It was more of a complete performance.
“We had our moments and we spoke about that at half-time. Fine detail off their goal-line was letting us down a little bit.
“We were at 85 per cent completion, which is great for us. I think they were about 63-65 per cent.
“We had a few more sets than them, so we knew in the second half, that would tell a little bit if we were patient, and we’d get that detail right.
“We’ve come up with a fantastic win against a top five side who had a big win at Featherstone a couple of weeks ago. It just shows what we can do.
“We knew where we’re at, and if we could clean up our errors and complete some sets, we knew we had the shape to trouble Halifax.
“We had to control their halves, Jouffret and Keyes, and I thought we did that absolutely brilliantly.
“There were some magnificent performances out there. Luke Broadbent was great at the back again, and I think Ryan Johnston was immense in his stint.
“Jake Carter went on and did a great job guiding us round at the back end of the game and did a superb job for us as well, as did Jarrod Sammut who stayed within our system.
“I’m just so pleased for the fans and everybody at the club, because everyone puts a lot of hard work in.”
