Workington Comets will get an idea about the quality of some of their National Development League opposition today.
Mildenhall host Kent in the first National Development League match of the season at West Row starting at 4pm.
The newly reformed Comets don’t get their season underway at Northside until May with a home clash against Edinburgh.
The Fen Tigers were runners-up last year and track a much-changed side for 2022, including Alfie Bowtell at No.1 who spent 2022 with the Royals.
The Iwade club welcome back Ben Morley as No.1 whilst Joe Alcock is back in the team after suffering serious injury last May.
Mildenhall boss Jason Gardner said: “I feel we got the Golden Ticket by securing the services of Lee Complin as our skipper.
“With the NDL looking much stronger across the board this season and only the top two contesting the play-offs, every race point is going to be vital and we are determined as a team to bring success and silverware back to this club.”
Kent’s Nathan Ablitt also faces his former club, and said: “It’s always good to go back there, the people are great and it’s a track I know I can go well at.
“It always helps to have an idea of the set-up, so you’re not going into the meeting completely cold and if there is anything I can pass on to the other guys that is great.”
