
Join us for a shimmeringly orange weekend in the Lake District at the 18th annual Marmalade Festival!
The marmalade magic takes place on Saturday April 22 and Sunday April 23 at Dalemain Mansion.
On Saturday, the celebrations start at 10am with the announcement of the category winners and Best in Show.
Throughout the day there will be:
- Marmalade Question Times with leading experts from the world of preserves
- Talks by Karen Jankel (Paddington author Michael Bond’s daughter), Keith Scobie-Young from the Cumbria Clock Company about his work on the Great Clock of Westminster and Chestnut House on their development of Jane’s Marmalade Gin
- A selection of the best marmalades in the world to try and buy
- Thousands of marmalades displayed in the Mansion
- Bellringing
- Juicing bicycle
- ·Garden Tours with our Head Gardener
- A selection of stalls
- Children’s activities
- And a visit from Paddington Bear!
Once again, we will be offering free entry to the festival, with a special rate for tickets available online and on the day for entry into the Mansion and Gardens.
On Sunday, we are hosting a special marmalade church service led by the Rev George Bush of St. Mary le Bow, London at St Andrews, Dacre.

All are welcome. From 10.30am we will be serving a fabulous all-day breakfast in the Great Barn Tearoom, with a selection of hundreds of marmalades to spread on your toast.
The Wigton Motor Club’s Drive It Day will see hundreds of classic cars return to the park.
If you entered the Homemade Marmalade Awards, you can collect your certificates and your jars over the weekend.
