Cockermouth have a long trek ahead of them in the quarter finals of the Papa John’s competition.

A fter a superb 20-19 home win over West Hartlepool they must travel to Goole on Saturday in their bid to reach the semi-final.

Goole were champions of Counties 1 Yorkshire, winning 20 of their 22 games but reached this stage without breaking sweat on Saturday.

Their scheduled opponents Keighley – ironically runners-up to them in the League – conceded the tie.

Before that Goole had won 29-15 win at Mellish while Keighley had been handed a walkover by Liverpool St Helens.

Wigton have also been drawn away in their Papa John’s competition, as they have to travel to West Leeds – who finished eighth behind Goole in the Counties 1 Yorkshire League.

Wigton reached this stage with a walkover after Hartlepool pulled-out on the morning of the game.

West Leeds had a massive 73-7 won at Warrington on Saturday.
